Natural Citrine Unheated Raw Crystal, DRC—CMIX5

This is a natural mineral specimen of Citrine, the golden yellow member of the Quartz family. It is natural citrine (NOT heated amethyst) from the Congo. The large sized crystal features soft, warm golden yellow color with smoky tones. It also has frosted interior clarity, and an aesthetic look, including subtle smoky phantom color zones! The specimen has abrasions and fractures which have not been polished out, and it is raw and abraded along the surface, giving it an earthy vibe. (There is a significant field of damage on this point, and it has been priced accordingly.) Natural citrine is considered far superior to more prevalent heated amethyst--it is valued for its beauty and healing. This crystal would make a perfect and desirable piece for specimen or healing collectors. Note: These crystals are completely raw; any fractures or rough edges have not been polished out, and remain as natural features of the specimen. Locality: Congo (Dem. It is found in a multitude of colors, growth habits, and localities. Citrine is the yellow variety of Quartz. The coloring agent is iron. Some citrine is natural, but a great deal of commercial citrine has been heat treated. As a member of the quartz group, the hardness of citrine is 7, and it crystallizes in the hexagonal (trigonal) system. Phantoms are a visible footprint in the crystal’s life, sometimes created by a secondary mineral layer or a change in environment; smoky phantoms are often the result of intensified radiation during certain times of the crystal’s formation. HEALING PROPERTIES: Citrine is believed to enhance manifestation, and spark creative inspiration. Often called the "merchant's stone", it is thought to help acquire and maintain wealth. It is said that citrine is one of the world's only self-clearing stones--that it does not need to be energetically cleared. Citrine is also associated with the solar plexus chakra, the seat of will and balance in the body. Phantoms are associated with big picture thinking, and slow and steady personal growth.
