*Please examine scale photos and dimensions—the perky box it is displayed in is 1.25” in size.* This specimen has quite a personality--it's an aesthetic miniature cluster of geometric crystals of golden iron pyrite (sometimes called "fool's gold"). This mineral is isometric, which means it forms cubic shapes--the cluster is composed of progressively smaller cubes, with attractive parallel striations. The lustrous, golden metallic pyrite crystals display lovely composition. This is a fascinating and sculptural mini specimen. This nice quality little cluster would enhance any specimen collection! It is an iron sulfide mineral, and is an iron ore. Pyrite forms in the cubic system--it forms symmetrical shapes such as cubes and dodecahedrons (4 sided and 12 sided crystals, respectively). The specific type of dodecahedron known as a pyritohedron is a common habit for pyrite, the mineral for which the formation was named. Healing Properties: Pyrite is a stone of masculine, solar energy. It is believed to carry the energy of vitality and action.
