Herkimer Diamond Druzy Quartz & Calcite Cluster, Mohawk Valley, NY USA—SELF2

This raw, small cluster is a sparkly diamond in the rough, and it is was mined by Phenomenal Gems team! This quartz variety is known as a Herkimer “diamond quartz”, an unusual locality quartz found in Herkimer County, New York. The cluster is rough, unpolished, and features a druzy crystallized crust of sparkling clear and black microcrystals. There are also bright white calcite crystals that accent the layer of teeny herkimers. The crystals have grown on a grey dolostone rock matrix. The structure of the cluster is organic and attractive. This piece is a small chunky cluster with tiny sized sparkling individual crystals ! This small natural specimen would make an excellent piece for meditation or gridding. *This specimen was self-collected, from Mohawk Valley Mineral Mining, in April 2024. Dimensions: contact me Weight: contact me FORMATION: Herkimer diamonds are named for the locality in which they were discovered (Herkimer county, NY, USA). The name "diamond" describes these quartz points' excellent clarity, and superficial resemblance to raw diamonds. “Black diamond” quartz from Little Falls and elsewhere in Herkimer County gets its black color from hydrocarbons and anthraxolite inclusions. Quartz is composed of silicon dioxide, and is one of the most abundant minerals on the planet. It is found in a multitude of colors, growth habits, and localities. Double terminated crystals have terminations growing in opposite directions. The hardness of quartz is 7, and it crystallizes in the hexagonal (trigonal) system. HEALING PROPERTIES: Herkimer diamond quartz is believed to have a very high vibration, and are associated with spiritual evolution. They carry the energy of attunement, and are believed to be excellent for transmitting and receiving spiritual energy. Quartz is believed to amplify intention, and is thought to be easily programmable for different purposes.
