This is a starburst cluster of honey tan dogtooth calcite crystals, on a matrix of raw clear and brown calcite. The cluster is composed of multiple layers of sharply terminated crystals, which have unique structure and radiate out in all directions. Some crystals are complete, and the cluster has a stunning look, with sharp points overall. (There are a few broken terminations and raw white areas, which I’ve considered in the price.) The cluster also glows under longwave UV light. This small specimen is a striking and unique display piece, and would offer a lot of beauty to any specimen collection! In fact, it forms in a wider variety of colors and habits than any other mineral! One of these is dogtooth crystals--sharp, terminated rhombohedral crystals which resemble a dog's teeth.
