This is a crystal cluster of rich black tourmaline, also known as Schorl. The cluster features striated structure and excellent luster--schorl is prone to brittleness and breakage, so the structural lines and minimal damage of this crystal make it especially desirable. The black tourmaline crystals are terminated, and the tan-white feldspar matrix has an organic roughness. Damaged section are minimal. This cluster of inky black crystals on white matrix would be ideal for display, gridding, or jewelry work! Perfect for the healing or specimen collector in your life.

FORMATION: Black tourmaline, also known as Schorl, is the black Tourmaline variety, which forms in nearly every color. Tourmaline has a hardness of 7-7.5. Brazil is a major locality for tourmaline, and the Erongo region of Namibia has become a prominent locality for tourmaline and other pegmatite minerals as well. Tourmaline varieties commonly form in association with quartz, feldspar, mica group, and other minerals .
HEALING: Tourmaline is believed to attract love, and balance masculine and feminine energy. It is also thought to help us to seek joy and heal emotional wounds. The black shade represents grounding, protection, and purification.
