*This is a miniature specimen--please read dimensions and examine scale photos carefully! The perky box is 1.25” in size.* This unique, structural miniature crystal specimen is colorless Goshenite zoned to pale ice blue Aquamarine, the blue-green variety of beryl! It is an aesthetic little crystal cluster, which features terminations, mini sidecar crystals, and various crystalline edges. The aquamarine crystals are well-formed and terminated, and the small mini looks like a little branch coming off the larger crystal. The color is a soft blue shade, kissed by areas of slightly golden hued colorless beryl. This miniature cluster would make a wonderful addition to any specimen collection, and would be especially well suited as jewelry supply, especially in a wirewrapped project! Locality: Erongo, Namibia. Dimensions: contact me Weight: contact me FORMATION: Aquamarine is the blue-green variety of Beryl--a gemstone family that also includes Emerald, Morganite, Bixbite, and the colorless Goshenite. Aquamarine forms in the hexagonal system, and forms crystals of varying clarity in prismatic and tabular shapes. It has a hardness of 7.5-8, which allows it to be faceted into beautiful and durable gemstones. (It is also my home state Colorado's state gem!) HEALING: Aquamarine has been used for healing purposes far back into history...it was originally associated with mermaids' treasure, was worn by sailors as a talisman while at sea. Today it is thought to enhance communication, courage, and peace. It is often used to cool and calm, and is the modern birthstone for March. *Though many gems and minerals have historical and cultural associations with healing properties, these items are sold for display, study, and collector interest only.
