This is a gorgeous and aesthetic specimen from one of Mexico’s most famous mines!!This small cluster of creamy white Dogtooth calcite crystals, which has grown in these sharp points and edges naturally. Delicate layers of crystallization define the sharp crystals—there is damage and the edges and some sections are not perfect, but the overall effect is very pleasing. This small, softly shaded cluster has a sweet personality, and also fluoresces under both longwave and shortwave UV! Truly a wonderful crystal to display, admire, and work with energetically. Dimensions: contact me Weight: contact me Ojuela Mine is one of the most famous mines in Mexico, and truly in the entire region—it is nicknamed the Tsumeb of the western hemisphere, and is a carbonate replacement deposit which has many similarities to Tsumeb. Ojuela, like its Namibian counterpart, is known for its vast polymetallic ore deposits, and is the type locality for several minerals. It’s particularly famous for its fluorescent minerals! Calcite is a calcium carbonate mineral, and forms the widest variety of habits and colors of any mineral. It is a soft mineral-- 2 on Moh's scale--so care must be taken during display. A wonderful aspect: these crystals fluoresce a beautiful pink shade under longwave UV light, and an extremely vibrant orange shade under shortwave UV light! Healing: It is believed that white calcite supports emotional healing, clarity, deep compassion, and a sense of joy.
